Jacquard weaving

The artwork of a Jacquard design is applied on a perforated band of paper by hand and woven on a jacquard loom with a flying shuttle. It?s a semi handloom process to create the complex woven-in design. Jacquard weave has a distinct front and backside.The front shows the design in crisp detail and the back is covered with long float yarns. Natural indigo dyed yarns are merged with raw cotton yarns to clearly show the jacquard design and the colour of the finished scarf gets a lighter blue shade.
To get a deep dark blue colour, the weaving yarns are dipped about 10 to 20 times in a vat of indigo. The more the yarns are dipped in the natural indigo, the darker the blue colour will get. During the dyeing process, no chemicals are added. General wear, use and wash will fade the colour and each product will gain its unique appearance by time.
